Sammylicious: The Blog

Sammylicious, is named after me as it was a nickname that I sometimes received and then it kind of just stuck with me. I enjoy food & travelling and enlightening people of where the best places to go and what to do. My blog came about when I decided to blog about my life as an Aussie expat in Canada as I frequently got a lot of questions about this from people who were interested. I enjoy blogging, along as photography and web design. That along with fashion inspires me everyday. These are the main focuses of my blog.

The content of this blog is always changing – just as I change as I grow older and the things that I love in life also change. Please feel free to offer any suggestions or feedback – I am always open to them as I’m still trying to get things going.

I used to host this blog on my fashion blog’s domain, So Luscious for a few years. However I got so busy with other things that I no longer had the time to regularly update it. As such, Sammylicious became the new up & coming website that I thought deserved it’s own domain.

On February 13th of 2011, Sammylicious.net (the domain) was officially born. Please note that I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH SAMMYLICIOUS.COM. That is not me and I do not know her!

Sammylicious: The Girl Behind It All

My name is Samantha (many call me Sammy and hence, I decided on the blog name Sammylicious). More importantly I’m AUSTRALIAAAAN (not Kiwi one bit, OKAY?!!) and was born in Malaysia. I moved to Australia when I was a baby, so I can pretty much say that I’ve been drilled to be Aussie right down to the bone from quite an early age and I am damn proud of it! Aussie Aussie Aussie – Oi Oi Oi!

As as I say that, I now live in the Far White North or otherwise known as Canada (I don’t completely agree that it’s the Great White North). But I will still call Australia home (I often sing this song and think of Qantas. Props to Qantas’ marketing team!). I’m proud of my country and I will love it forever. Oh how I miss My Island Home (Christine Anu reference anybody?) …

I worked hard in school, finished my university with a Bachelor of Commerce and a major in Finance. Somehow I ended up in insurance underwriting, and to this day I’m still in the Wonderful World of Insurance.
